Larry Drew is the chief administrative officer of the city of East Dublin and is appointed by the Mayor and Council to serve in that capacity. While the Mayor and City Council set the policy direction for the city, the city administrator implements these policies to achieve the city’s goals.

The responsibilities of the City Administrator include supervising the day-to-day operations of all city departments, meeting with citizens and citizen groups to understand their needs better, providing executive leadership that encourages good performance by city workers and operating the city in a professional manner.

PLANNING & ZONING

The City Administrator regulates all building and construction within the City of East Dublin. He also establishes procedures for the permitting and inspection of all building activities within the City and provides for the administration and enforcement of the Georgia Minimum Standard Codes to provide for the safety and health of all citizens.

BUILDING INSPECTION

Permits are required for most construction work performed, including roofing, siding, pools, fences, sheds, garages, new additions, cabinetry, doors, new construction, windows, electrical, plumbing and mechanical work, temporary structures, and retaining walls to name a few. For any work performed by a contractor, said person / company, must be licensed or registered by the State of Georgia.

CITY ORDINANCES

The City Code provides regulations for public health, morals, economic well-being, welfare, and safety. Any Council enactment that regulates people or property and provides a penalty if violated are adopted in the form of an ordinance. In the State of Georgia, laws exist to ensure that the public has a right to access appropriate records and information possessed by City government. Information that is not confidential and is available during an in-person visit to City Hall and may be posted for electronic access on the City of East Dublin’s website.
